"Dead of Night" Press Release

Variety has the official press release announcing Brandon starring in "Dead of Night," a comics-to-film adaptation of the popular Italian comic series "Dylan Dog." The film, directed by Kevin Munroe, is about a private investigator who is drawn into the world of the undead.

The "Superman Returns" star will topline "Dead of Night," based on the bestselling Italian comicbook series "Dylan Dog," for Hyde Park and Platinum Studios.

Brandon on "Lie to Me" and Superman

Brandon recently spoke with Press-Telegram, a Long Beach publication, about his role in the independent drama Lie to Me which premieres at the Newport Beach Film Festival on Saturday and the status of the "Superman Returns" sequel.

On "Lie to Me":

"It's an interesting date movie, maybe even an interesting first date. It puts it all out on the table and raises a lot of interesting subjects for people - things that are really important and what people my age are going through. Mainly, am I ready to commit to one person?"

On the SR sequel:

"Bryan was very open to communicating about the character and was very collaborative with me. We talked endlessly about the character and what he's going through. On set, we were on the same playing field. He's a genius and it's exciting to see him work. I think (`Superman Returns') is a beautiful film. I'm really, really proud of it and very excited to continue."

The Lie To Me site has been updated with a new poster, teaser trailer, and a world premiere date.

The film is set to debut at the Newport Beach Film Festival April 26th with tickets going on sale April 3rd.

"The Informers" News

IGN reports that themes of the occult nature from "The Informers" have been omitted from the film. Brandon had previously signed on to play a vampire.

"There are no more vampires. They took the vampires out. There are no zombies or monsters either," he announces. "This is more about the narcissistic side of people's characters. God knows why they took the vampire characters out. I can't say if I was pleased or displeased, that is just the way it is."

Although he won't appear in the film, Brandon will be in NBC's "Fear Itself" anthology that will be directed by Mary Harron ("American Psycho") set to air this summer.

IESB is reporting, although this shouldn't be news to forum members, that Bryan Singer is back to direct the sequel to "Superman Returns."

In addition, the site writes that "Transformers"/"Star Trek" writers Roberto Orci and Alex Kurtzman have been talking with WB to pen the aforementioned sequel.

Brandon Joins NBC's "Fear Itself"

Updated March 5th: The series is set to debut May 29 at 10 PM.

According to NBC, Brandon has joined NBC's anthology series "Fear Itself," a Summer '08 13-episode horror and suspense series to be directed by filmmakers such as Mary Harron ("American Psycho") and Brad Anderson ("The Machinist"). The series is produced by Lionsgate Entertainment.

"Community" is directed by Mary Harron ("American Psycho," "The Notorious Betty Page," "Big Love") and written by Kelly Kennemer ("The Music Within"). When a young married couple, played by Routh and Appleby, find the perfect house in the perfect neighborhood, their lives seem...well...perfect. But as the dark underbelly of their neighborhood creeps to the surface, they soon realize that their neighbors will go to any extreme -- even murder -- to make sure that they comply with their twisted sense of conformity. John Billingsley (Star Trek: Enterprise") also stars.

According to NewsTalk in La Crosse, Wisconsin, Brandon and Kal Penn will be making a pit-stop at the University of Wisconsin La Crosse to represent presidential hopeful Barack Obama on the 14th at 3:30 PM, Cleary Alumni and Friends Center.

The Daily Cardinal reports they will also visit Obama's WI campaign office in Madison at Laundry 101, 437 W. Gilman St., - 7:30 p.m.

According to NY Daily News and CNN, Brandon is in Iowa drumming up support for presidential hopeful Barack Obama.

Asked by the Daily News how influential Superman will be, Routh replied, "I'm here as an Iowan." But he added, "A lot of people here have great respect for the character of Superman."

WMA to Rep "Cracktown"

Lodestar Entertainment has partnered with the William Morris Agency's William Morris Independent to distribute the urban drama "Life is Hot in Cracktown" starring Brandon Routh, Lara Flynn Boyle, and Kerry Washington.
